CRUSH 2 Subscribe

CRUSH-2 is the second-generation platform, which supports SHARC-2, LABOCA, SABOCA, ASZCA, p-ArTeMiS, PolKa, GISMO, and SCUBA-2.

It is faster and better than either of its predecessors (CRUSH-1.xx or miniCRUSH), and it is the only CRUSH actively supported and developed. Take a look at the README for a quick tutorial, or check out the GLOSSARY of available configuration options. Go ahead, download:

Check out the up-to-date list of changes. Extra calibration data may be obtained for LABOCA and SABOCA. Or, browse the older releases if you will, but be warned that many of these obsoleted versions may contain bugs that have since been eliminated and features that have been changed/improved. Use at your own peril...

CRUSH-2 is released under version 3 of the GNU General Public License (GPLv3). Report bugs to kovacs[AT]astro.umn.edu.

miniCRUSH

miniCRUSH is a minimalistic (hence the name) early branch of the CRUSH-2 development for LABOCA, SABOCA, ASZCA, and p-ArTeMiS. It is no longer maintained and has been superseded by CRUSH-2. You can still download the final release:

Take a look at the README to get started. Or, see the up-to-date list of changes for this version. Note, that the output maps are, for the most part, compatible with the CRUSH-1.xx image utilities (which are bundled :-). Extra calibration data may be obtained for LABOCA and SABOCA. Older releases are available at your own peril.

miniCRUSH is released under version 3 of the GNU General Public License (GPLv3).

CRUSH 1.xx

The original CRUSH for SHARC-2 is no longer maintained. Instead users should upgrade to CRUSH-2. The last CRUSH-1.xx release contains only minor improvements over the prior update. Check out the summary of options for this release, or have a quick peek at what's new. You can still download the final release:

  • crush-1.63-15.tar.gz and source code (19 Nov 2010).
  • Get windows.zip containing batch (.bat) files for running CRUSH 1.xx in Windows (updated for CRUSH 1.62-3 or newer). Unzip into the crush distribution directory, then run cleanup to delete the unnecessary UNIX shell scripts.

Or, browse the older releases at your own peril.

Get Java for CRUSH

Java Logo

CRUSH requires Java 5 (1.5.0) or newer, and runs fastest with Java 6. Java is probably on your machine already. If not, or if it is not the version you want, then use one of the links below to grab the Java Runtime Environment (JRE), or the Java Development Kit (JDK) of your choice.

The GNU Java (gij), bundled with some Linux distributions, does not always run CRUSH correctly.
