Jeff Zivick appointed CCAT Project Manager

The CCAT Board has appointed Jeff Zivick to become the CCAT Project Manager effective 2011 February 14. He will be located at Cornell University.

Prior to joining CCAT, Zivick was at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he was the Deputy Project Manager for the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) North America (NA) and leader of the Integrated Product Team (IPT) for ALMA NA antennas. He oversaw the construction and acceptance of the first 11 ALMA NA antennas, which are now in operation at the Array Operations Site on the 5000 m altitude Chajnantor Plateau in the Atacama desert of northern Chile.

Prior to joining NRAO, Zivick was with Ericsson Communications leading teams developing real-time wireless network products and investigating performance capabilities of Ericsson's cellular networks. He earned his MSEE and MBA from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and his Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute.

Zivick's experience with the production of precision antennas and familiarity with conditions at high altitude sites in Chile makes him uniquely qualified as project manager for CCAT.
